I chose this quilt to spotlight because it was the first quilt I made after getting my Statler Stitcher in 2006. I had lots of fun making this quilt, and even more fun quilting it, and using it. I love the bright colors, and the way the white sets off the bright colors. I made it in the summer of 2006 when we were up at our "cabin" in Midway, UT with six of our seven children, and our three grandchildren (now five soon to be six!). I love quilting!
These beautiful photographs were taken by my daughter, Stephanie Ortega. To see her photography, go to her blog at http://picsbystephy.blogspot.com. She's amazing!

I think this is my favourite one so far. I love, love the colours.
I am partial to pinks that are really pink!
Isn't it great to have a festival like this to tell a story of our quilts?
The colors really do pop on this quilt, it makes it so fun and lively! And I love that it will always remind you of time with your family!
It is so bright and cheery :) I love it.
Wow, so bright and cheerful. Midway is such a great place; when my husband and I were first married we talked about living somewhere up in Heber Valley but... it didn't quite work out that way and here we are in Kansas City!
I love these colorful quilts. Beautiful.
This is a gorgeous quilt! I love you color choices. I'd like to make one of these for my son, but I'll choose a different color scheme ;)
